SSB Field Day/144MHz Trophy 2000


The society operated in two concurrant 24hour RSGB contests during the weekend of 2nd & 3rd Septemeber 2000. 'SSB Field Day' (SSB=Single SideBand) on HF using the society call of G0SOA and  the 144MHz Trophy as callsign M2H. The latter being a new contest attempt for the society having participated in SSB Field Day for many years, although we missed last year. The location this year was Snitterfield Airfield just north of Stratford.

SSB Field Day
Transciever=TS850SAT with 100W output into an Mantis Loop using two elevated supports at 48ft. Operators were G0REP,G3XZO,G0CDO,G3MXH & G0MRH.

Transciever=TS 751 with 120W output into 12 ele ZL special at 17m above ground level. Operators were M1EGX,G0OGN,M1EDA & G8HJS. 27015 points were claimed from 123 valid contacts with the furthest contact being with F6CRP in locator IN96KE at 673 Km.
